The Baby Quasar from AdvanThera is a wonderful advancement in skincare and beauty. It’s where technology and skincare meet to provide you with a pain-free way to satisfy your anti-aging needs and provide a pill-free alternative to eliminating acne.
Some of the benefits of light therapy are:
Stimulating the production of collagen
Kills bacteria that causes blemishes
It’s an anti-inflammatory
Stimulates tissue repair
The Baby Quasar is a portable hand held device with 24 LED’s. It is surprisingly lightweight and has timed signaled intervals to assist you in giving each area of your face an equal amount of light. There is one pulsed light session and 2 sessions of a continuous beam. The light is not at all hot and it only slightly warms the Baby Quasar’s metal body.
Before using the Baby Quasar, you will want to clean your face and apply a well absorbing serum. I chose to use Dr. Bragi’s Marine Enzyme as it is activated by heat and I had success with it when used alone.
Your first 8 minutes of treatment are with pulsed light. You move the Baby Quasar pressed against your skin clockwise around your face. The areas of the face are to be treated in 4 sections, with the pulsed light focusing on one area at a time for 2 minutes each. The pulsed light does take some getting used to. By this I am referring to when you are moving the Baby Quasar between your eyebrows, above your eyebrows and under your eyes. The pulsed light is similar to a strobe light and I suggest not closing your eyes when you are treating these areas, but keeping your eyes open and looking to the side. This should help to prevent you from feeling dizzy.
The next 20 minutes are with two different wavelengths, but both are a continuous beam of red light. Not at all uncomfortable or hot. When the time is up for treatment to each section of your face, the Baby Quasar beeps. You can continuously smooth the Baby Quasar to equal parts of your face or you can keep it focused on trouble spots (ie. wrinkles, fine lines, acne). This is just what I did and was amazed by it’s results.
I am always prone to acne on and around my chin. I made sure to pay special attention to the blemishes I had and also to two deep wrinkles I have that I loathe. By the end of day one, a few of my blemishes were just about gone. Still there—but greatly diminished. This really pumped me up for my next treatment session. Within a week, my face was clearer and the two wrinkles I had been focusing on seemed noticeably softened. My skin looked fresh and healthy.
When first starting out with Light Therapy, you should do a 28 minute treatment session everyday, however over time you can do maintenance sessions only 3 times a week. Prior to the Baby Quasar, I had never tried Light Therapy for my acne and wrinkles and I was honestly skeptical about whether it worked or not. I’m happy to say that it definitely works and even though the 28 minute treatment session sounds like an inconvenience, it really is worth it once you see the results.
Also–their customer service is awesome. The owner spoke directly with me about this product and how to use it. He listened to all of my questions and gave easy to understand answers about the technology of the Baby Quasar. What other company does that?
The Baby Quasar is available at drugstore.com for $449.
* If you are prone to epileptic seizures, please consult your doctor before purchasing the Baby Quasar.

WOW! the Baby Quasar sounds great! I would be all for light therapy (anything to improve my skin) but the $449 price is way, way out of my budget!
Tina - August 21st, 2009 at 5:01 pmAre you still using your Baby Quasar? Is it worth the investment? I can get 3 IPL facial treatments for that price…which I can highly recommend for fair skinned folks…
Suzy - August 21st, 2009 at 5:32 pmJust due to the nature of what I do, I haven’t used it in a while. I can’t really give another acne or skin care product a fair review if I am using something else too. But I can say that when I did use it, it worked great. I just wasn’t fond of the flashing lights when I did near my eyes.
Shannon - August 21st, 2009 at 5:36 pmI would love to try this product! I have such sensitive skin to beauty products, this would be great!
Jennifer C. - August 22nd, 2009 at 10:29 amI wonder if this would help reduce the appearance of stretch marks?
Jennifer C. - August 22nd, 2009 at 10:29 amShannon, i believe that laser can do some serious damage to your eyes if you look into it. I have used laser treatment on my hair, and there was a warning not to look into the red light!
Anna S. - August 22nd, 2009 at 12:15 pmlol, I def. keep my eyes closed, but the red light is bright so you can still “see” it through your eyelids.
Shannon - August 22nd, 2009 at 12:17 pmand there is no warning on a label or anything like that? you may want to investigate more since I have read and heard from some sources that laser is definitely damaging to your eyesight…. i would just be extra careful! though the product does sounds like a good idea….
Anna S. - August 22nd, 2009 at 12:20 pmYes they have a warning on the instructions about the flashing light, etc. that’s why I put in the warning about anyone being prone to epileptic seizures too…
Shannon - August 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pmWow! Baby Quasar: an amazing tool!
Daphne - August 23rd, 2009 at 11:33 amBut, at that price, I can only drool…
Oh, I am learning so much about treatments that are out there. But gosh cant afford it. i guess I would have to win the lotto in order to get my acne to go away. I wish there was a cheaper way to do it. i guess acne is so un wanted that people are willing to go a long expensive distance to clear there acne. Do not get me wrong I would love to buy these things if I could afford it. I would go out right now to get the Baby Quasar . it sounds like something I could realy use.
Vanessa Flores - August 23rd, 2009 at 1:08 pmThe Baby Quasar sounds like something I would love to use~as even though I am getting close to 50 years of age I still have the acne breakouts and of course the fine lines and wrinkles
Deb Klein - August 23rd, 2009 at 7:16 pmDeb, I hate to hear that you are still haveing break outs. It kills me to thank that all my life I am going to have break outs. It actualy scares me. I have never had a day were I did not have a blemish. Sometimes it gets realy bad especialy under my chin. I have even tried the hypo alergeneic pillows just to see if that would make a difference. I just hope and pray that some day there is going to be a cheap alternitive to acne care.
Vanessa Flores - August 23rd, 2009 at 7:55 pmReally I have heard a lot of positive things @quasar
