I used to be ash blonde, but am now a white/with a bit of ash blonde, and I chose light blonde #9, I love the colour on the rest of my hair (I previously used nice `n easy, 2 months before) but the colour washed out of the regrowth area really quickly, and I was left with white roots by 3 weeks. Would it work better to leave the colour on roots for 10-15 mins? or will the rest of the solution become inactivated by the time I get the rest of the hair done? Please advise, thankyou.

after years of having jet black hair and about 8 months of natural color growing in, i bought perfect 10 in black/jet black. i haven't dyed it yet but after reading your review i think it might be a bit better to go with the dark brown. i need something that will blend with what i have but still be a nice transition to my roots. your review is super helpful!

I rushed out and bought Perfect 10 when it was first launched as it sounded amazing. However, after trying it twice (I bought two while it was on offer unfortunately) I have to say it has the worst grey coverage of all products I have tried. In fact, the second time it didn't take on my roots at all and I had to re-color within a few days. I have fine, dry, naturally blonde hair, so am very disappointed. The golden blonde I chose was very intense and looked brassy. Not worth the money. Back to the drawing-board please Clairol.

I tried this also. The color did not last as long as other brands I have used. Probably will not buy this again. I had a coupon and I'm such a sucker for coupons!

I don't normally color my hair at home, but if I did, I think I'd choose to use this.

Thanks for all the great tips on how to get the most of your DIY hair color!

I tried this out a few weeks ago - I have short hair so the comb applicator wasn't that bad, but I reverted to using my hands to really mix all the dye in. It didn't last as long as I hoped - within maybe 2 weeks the color was fading (to show my tinted red hair), so I used my regular haircolor to cover it up.
