  1. Nice site and great to bring more awareness. My learned fact and one I really encourage:

Mammography is especially valuable as an early detection tool because it can identify breast cancer at an early stage, usually before physical symptoms develop when the disease is most treatable.

  2. I think it’s great that you’re doing this. My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor and next year I’ll have my first mamogram at age 30. Thank you.

  3. Studies show that early detection, when followed by appropriate treatment, saves lives and increases treatment options. The five-year survival rate for breast cancer is 98 percent among individuals whose cancer has not spread beyond the breast at the time of diagnosis.

    Thanks again.

  4. A clinical breast exam should be part of a periodic health exam, about every three years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women age 40 and older.

  9. Great websites - i have a friend who’s 35 and going thru it now -I was in shock at how young it can affect someone. Early deduction is key.

Fact: At this time, breast cancer cannot be prevented, which is why regular mammograms are so important; they can find breast cancers early, when they are easier to treat.

  15. I’m in my 20s and I’ve just started getting serious about my attitudes towards aging gracefully and I’m beginning to wake up to the fact that I have to be alive to even age gracefully.
    Here’s a fact:
Women should know how their breasts normally look and feel and report any breast change promptly to their health care providers. Breast self-exam is an option for women starting in their 20s.
