I love this quote from Caress, “Skin is the ultimate fashion statement.” This is so true because you can be wearing the hottest looking skirt, but if your legs are dry and flakey, that is going to be the center of attention not how amazing the skirt looks on you. And if you are like me, you worked your tail off to afford that skirt…there is no way you are going to let your stems ruin your moment in the spotlight. So what to do? It’s a no brainer–invest in good skin care.
If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you know that I am constantly battling my uneven skin tone on my face, as well as the keratosis pilaris on my arms and legs (thanks mom for passing those genes on!) Now that it’s shorts and bathing suit weather, I can no longer hide behind jeans and long sleeve shirts. I was interested in trying Caress’ new Skinwear Collection of body washes mostly because I was captivated by “Evenly Gorgeous Skin.” Even? I’m in.
The Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash contains brown sugar (you know this is one of my faves!) and karite butter (otherwise known as shea butter), so on the one hand exfoliating your skin and on the other moisturizing it. I am a super huge fan of shea butter and besides being a great moisturizer, it is also known for diminishing skin discoloration. Now for those of you who battle keratosis pilaris, you know that dead skin and clogged pores leads to some pretty bad redness of your skin. This is why I am the president of the exfoliation fan club (Ok so there isn’t a fan club, but if there was I would be president for sure.) Of course, all in moderation (only 1-2 times per week.)
Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash smells incredibly delish. And when you smell good, you feel good. It didn’t make my skin issue disappear and my skin is not even-toned (nor will it ever be), however this is a great product at an affordable price to give you the benefits of unclogging those pores and hydrating your skin so that you can achieve a healthier appearance of your skin tone.
You can grab it at www.drugstore.com for about $7. Be sure to also check out my review on Caress’ Exotic Oil Infusions.

Daphne - August 22nd, 2009 at 6:04 pmI’ve tried this and it smells fantastic and sloughs off dead skin! Hooray!
Tina - August 22nd, 2009 at 7:06 pmThis product is AMAZING! I love the way it smells. I feel like licking myself–oooops, did I go too far? It’s a gentle exfoliate but the moisturizing aspect was awesome. Love, love, love this product!
Great review Shannon!
nandoism - October 8th, 2009 at 3:12 pmHey, good review… just a warning though… I loved the smell and feel of this one and how it exfoliated my skin, but it has actual SUGAR in it. I ended up with a yeast infection after about a week of using it. I’ve never had one of these before, I was so embarrassed, but we’re pretty sure it was from slathering sugar all over my ‘bits’… I know that’s gross, but the warning should be out there. Keep it away from the lower area, maybe wash that with a different type of soap!
