The summer months can be harsh on your skin with all of the sea, sun and sand. Not to mention the extra showers during the humid warm days as you try to cool off. Treat your skin and your senses to a luxurious body scrub. Look for a scrub with a scent that appeals to your nose and your budget. Slather on the scrub no more than 1-2 times a week. If you have typically dry skin look for a scrub that has added moisturizers or if you are looking for an aromatherapy experience choose a fragrance that has either a calming or invigorating sensation. There are also specialized scrubs for various parts of the body including the face, feet and lips. Be sure to follow up your body scrub with an intensive moisturizer to soften the skin.
If you are looking for a scrub without parabens, sulfates or synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes or phthalates you’ll love the Nude moisturizing body polish. It contains natural Hibiscus monoi and sugar. The sugar dissolves after rinsing with water and leaves a pretty delicate scent of monoi and smooth skin. Another one of our faves is the popular Fresh Brown Sugar body polish, which was awarded “Best Body Scrub” in InStyle magazine’s “Best of Beauty” (April 2009 issue). The real brown sugar crystals are saturated with healing oils and add moisture as they gently exfoliate, and we how can you resist the sweet sugary smell of this scrub!

Styleezta - August 20th, 2009 at 11:29 pmI am a big lover of all the scrubby things! Scrub is my favorite item in the shower, I can use it exfoliate my skin prior to tanning, or shaving, or even skip the body wash, of my scrub is strongly scented. My suggestions- Soap and Glory Sugar Scrub (like limes and sugar margarita, with pieces of macadamia nuts, and yes, I tried to taste it…), Victoria Secret Sugar Scrubs (amazing scents, not oily at all, yummy), Ile de Tahiti Scrub (gardenia scent, white sand as scrub particles- very pretty!)
Anna S. - August 21st, 2009 at 8:05 amLove, love, love body polishes — have the hubby hooked on them, too (faves include 100% pure, Derserving Thyme, and Sundari). I use them 1-3 or 4 times a week, depending on my mood, my skin, and if it’s for the scent/moisture/whatever. Also, use before shaving my legs for the closest shave ever and as a cuticle smoother between mani’s.
Suzy - August 21st, 2009 at 8:19 amOoh what about Lush’s body polish? Haven’t tried those yet, but have heard a lot of great things about them too.
MsKianaluv - August 21st, 2009 at 2:47 pmHaven’t tried Lush — and always mix them up with Lather — which I have tried — their Bamboo Lemongrass foaming body scrub — the smell was devine — but, honestly, I will not buy it again — I cannot get past the color (you’ve got to see it to understand: http://www.lather.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=331&idCategory=4 ), right out of the jar, and the texture is a bit dry to start with…
