Men’s Hairstyle Trend for Fall: The Updated Pompadour

naz_kupelianWe’re often hearing about what the latest hairstyle for women will be with each season, which for obvious reasons, I pay attention to, but it had me wondering: What about hairstyles for men? To get that answer I went to Naz Kupelian, a 20 year veteran of the hair industry and owner of Naz Kupelian Salon in Lexington, Massachusetts. (Yes I am quite partial to New Englanders having grown up in Rhode Island!)

For men, Naz recommends updated versions of the sixties (think Elvis or Frank Sinatra), but with a lot of texture and movement to the hair. For this look, the sides are cut really short and close. The top is left long enough to comb back in a sweeping like manner. To complete this look, Naz suggests using hair wax such as Naz’s Shutter Wax by his own line “Naz Kupelian” or Wired by RUSK, a flexible styling crème for any hair type.mens-pompadour-hairstyle

While at first I was thinking, really? A pompadour? I realize that we have indeed been seeing this coming back into play since the Spring. I can say that by watching my own son’s in what their requests have been for hairstyles. My 7 and 5 year old are very hair obessesed and one weekend came home from visiting with their father to surprise me with faux hawk’s. Within a month it had grown out a bit and on occasion they would flip their hair back just like a pompadour. So it appears, that no matter what your age–the updated pompadour is what is in trend for men this fall and winter season.

What do you think of this hairstyle?

After being on Oprah as a glamour guru, I’m sure all the hairdressers out there will agree that the only hairstyle you should wear should be the one that makes you feel like the better version of yourself. cuz ya know, if your naked your hair is still there!if historians find naked pictures of people in 3020 they will know what year it is from the hairstyles, so…..
If its green with black stripes go for it! if its a pomp
    AAAAYYYYYY get 50′s with it,
If your more polo than prince
Or gautier than GI, its all good, Just know your facial shape and who you are and you can’t go wrong, this style is not for the oblong it would work best on rounder shapes
    Cheers kit
