Get Gilded With Real Gold-Infused Makeup Picks

Gold is already an iconic color of summer, from shimmering beach sands to glowing sun-kissed complexions. But what about real gold? As extravagant as it sounds, the mineral is popping up in all sorts of makeup, from 24k-infused lip glosses and luxe powder eyeshadows to even golden hair pomade! Believe it or not, the extra bling really does serve a purpose beyond just being an indulgent added ingredient — gold flecks give formulas enhanced shine, and appears more subtly shimmery than some Mica-infused products that can appear too glittery or chunky. Believe it or not, most 24k products aren’t much more expensive than their less luxurious brand counterparts, so be careful not to get swindled into paying big bucks for the extra glitz!

One of my favorite gold-enhanced products on the market is Stila’s 24kt gloss. It’s not overly “gilded” like some golden glosses and instead simply adds a little gold-flecked sparkle to more wearable colors for the perfect amount of added summer shimmer. Probably the most “out there” product I’ve seen is Oribe’s 24k Hair Pomade, which depending on how generously you apply it, adds a gold-flecked protective coating on hair for a shimmery sun-reflective look that moisturizes and protects from heat while it shines. Talk about a summer glow!
