Growing up I always noticed how young my great-grandmother, grandmother and mother’s skin looked. My great-grandmother lived to be 99 and when she passed, she looked no older than about 80. My grandmother is in her late 70′s, but I promise, you would never know it. From a very early age, they all faithfully took care of their skin and it paid off. I learned from them that taking care of your skin is important and really the key to looking youthful. I.e. see a picture of me here, do I really look like I will be 35 this year? Sundari’s Gotu Kola and Indian Asparagus Mask is one great skin care product for those of us with aging skin and as I mentioned in my Beauty Ingredients Forecast for 2009, Ayurveda and products associated with it, are really taking off here in the states.

The Gotu Kola and Indian Asparagus Mask comes with a jar of the mask itself as well as a vial of an Antioxidant Booster. You empty the entire vial into the jar and stir with the small spatula provided. The mask consistency reminds me of a clear applesauce-jelly concoction; the main ingredient is glycerin, so you can envision the appearance. The Antioxidant Booster smells very spa-like of sandalwood and lavendar. Once mixed your mask is now is orange color. I noticed when I applied it that it made my face have a tingling sensation right away–not burning or painful, but as if you can feel it “working.” The application directions make no mention of this, so I’m not sure if this is the typical skin reaction to this product (if you’ve used it please comment if you had the same reaction.)

After leaving it on for 10 minutes, you simply rinse it off. My skin felt so soft and wonderful afterwards, not to mention looking refreshed. I honestly want to say I even had a glow to my face. I was very happy with the results. Sundari promises great results after two weeks of using this mask, which seem very promising since I saw it after the first use. It is a little pricey at $100 a jar, but like I mention in a lot of my beauty reviews, I do think it is worth it. If you’ve used it, I’d love you to share your thoughts in the comments.
