Sara Happ x Sprinkles The Lip Scrub Review

Shannon Smyth
Sara Happ makes the most decadent lip scrubs, so it's no surprise to hear that her newest scrub is inspired by Sprinkles most popular flavor - red velvet. Who is Sprinkles you ask? Surely you've heard of the super popular cupcake bakery where people would wait in line for hours just for a bite. No? OK, then maybe you've seen them mentioned in the media for having cupcake ATM's? Now that is one withdrawal that I would not mind one bit(e). Sadly, I don't live near a Sprinkles location nor have I ever had the opportunity to taste their haute cupcakes or creamy ice cream. (Except I now just learned I can have them shipped to me...hello, where's my wallet??)
Sara Happ x Sprinkles red velvet the lip scrub helps me get a good idea of why this flavor is so popular. The lip scrub is crimson-colored and upon removing the lid, the sweet scent of cream cheese frosting wafts through the air. If you are on a diet, you'll be like, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS CUPCAKES I NEED TO SLATHER THIS ALL OVER MY ENTIRE BODY. Just sayin.
I'm getting so distracted writing this review as the scrub sits opened on my desk because the frosting/chocolate combination smells SO good. I won't take any responsibility for it forcing me to go order a bunch of cupcakes when I'm done... Moving on... a small scoop of this scrub is all you need to gently exfoliate your lips. You can smell (and taste) the sugary goodness working its magic. Just a few firm circular massages is all it takes and simply wipe off. Now pair this with Sara's Sweet Clay Mask, and your lips will be in complete heaven. Have you tried it? (Hint: you need to!) Subscribe to A Girl’s Gotta Spa! beauty blog. My Top Five Beauty Products From Whole Foods

Gail Lewis
Top 5 beauty products from @wholefoods via @agirlsgottaspa The only department in Whole Foods that I normally skip is the beauty department. It's true. I guess I've always just felt that the Whole Foods beauty department contained products that would be of little or no interest to me due to them smelling weird or my assumption that they were ineffective. Well we all know what they say about assuming. Silly me. After actually browsing through the beauty department, I realized that Whole Foods carried some of my favorite beauty products that I normally have to search for online due to most retailers not carrying them in store. Whole Foods has now become one of my favorite destinations for beauty products that are natural, organic, cruelty free and that perform amazingly well. A few of my favorite beauty products from Whole Foods are: 1. Alaffia Pineapple Coconut Shea Butter Soap, $2.99  I love a good bar of soap and this soap smells incredible. It leaves my skin soft and moisturized plus it is triple milled and Certified Fair Trade. 2. Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive, $39 This peel contains alpha hydroxy acids and exfoliates while also reducing the appearance of dark spots and discoloration.  After using this, my skin is left glowing. 3. Kiss My Face Lavender and Shea Moisture Shave, $4.99 This is my all time favorite shaving product.  This shave cream is really moisturizing and contains Vitamin E and oils to soften skin. The creamy formula provides a smooth, close shave with Golden Seal, lemongrass and aloe that help to soothe and olive and coconut oils to moisturize. My legs are left feeling touchably soft with absolutely no bumps! 4. Eco Lips Vanilla Bean Organic Lip Scrub, $9.99 This lip scrub contains organic, Fair Trade Certified sugar that gently exfoliates and polishes. It also contains organic coconut oil, olive oil and jojoba oil to condition and protect lips leaving them soft, smooth and moisturized. After using this scrub I don't even need to use lip balm. This scrub is an absolute MUST before applying lipstick, especially red lipstick, because it makes application a breeze and red lipstick just looks better on flake-free lips. Plus it is edible! 5. 365 Everyday Value Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, $5.99 So I don't exactly get this in the beauty department, but this is one of my favorite multiple use beauty products. I use it as a makeup remover, deep conditioning hair treatment, as a body scrub by mixing it with coffee grounds, lemon and honey and as a shaving oil whenever I am out of my regular shaving product. Your Lips' New Best Friend

Shannon Smyth
@TreatBeauty Organic Sherbet Lip Scrub #review via @agirlsgottaspa #beauty My addiction of a good scrub goes beyond just body and facial scrubs. I adore lip scrubs and Treat Beauty's newest organic sugar scrub is one you'll want immediately. First and foremost, I love that this scrub comes in a handy tube. This makes it easy to bring with you when traveling, and even easier if you are using it in the shower because your fingers won't get messy and slippery. It also means there's basically no chance of getting water into the tube as you would with a jar. This lip scrub is also pretty big! It's jumbo in size and not your typical small lip tube. @TreatBeauty Sherbet Lip Scrub #review #organic #sugarscrub via @agirlsgottaspa To use, simply twist up a little scrub (don't worry, it won't fall out), press to your lips with your mouth slightly open and rub in a circular motion. If in the shower (which I found easiest), simply rinse your face. If at the bathroom sink, just use a wet washcloth to wipe away the sugar. It doesn't leave any greasiness behind, just super soft lips. Aside from exfoliating well, this lip scrub smells and tastes delicious! Not that I am one for licking scrub off my lips when I just exfoliated the dry skin, but at least when I first apply it, if it happens to get in my mouth it's no biggie. Stop by www.treatbeauty.com and get one for yourself! Treat is cruelty free. Our Favorite Lip Scrubs

Shannon Smyth
You go to apply your favorite lipstick, only to have your dry, peeling lips magnified by like 100. Your sexy pout is no longer so sexy. Been there, done that. Nothing adds more life and vitality to your lips than giving them the rub down with a good sugar scrub. We have our favorites, do you see yours among them?

Beau Bain Mint Mojito Lip Scrub

Beau Bain's lip scrubs rank high for me. My favorite is their Mint Mojito. I love it so much that I literally licked it off my lips post-scrub. While sugar, of course, does the scrubbing, shea butter, avocado oil and Vitamin E do the softening. Their scrub comes paired with a lip balm, which is great to apply before bed, or to wear when you simply want to keep your lips moisturized. LUSH Bubble Gum Lip Scrub Walking into a LUSH store is like driving without navigation...you are bound to get lost for HOURS. This deliciously scented lip scrub is another one that can be licked off without fear of ingesting anything nasty. Sugar and jojoba oil will take your lips to the next level of hydration.

Bliss Fabulips

Not so much into the whole "mint" lip scene? Bliss has Fabulips, which is a vanilla and orange flavor. The dirty work is done with almond and walnut shells, while jojoba seed and olive oils, shea and cocoa butters and vitamins A, C and E nourish. Red Velvet The Lip Scrub by Sara Happ Our lip scrub recommendations wouldn't be complete without The Lip Scrub from Sara Happ. She has so many decadent scents to choose from, like Red Velvet, Brown Sugar and Creme Brulee that it may be difficult not to hoard them all. (We promise we won't confront you about your "problem".) Sugar, jojoba and grape seed oils will get your pout pretty once again. Which lip scrub do you swear by?
