A Girl's Gotta Spa! Awarded $5K Grant from FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab Powered by the Accion Opportunity Fund

Hamlin, Pennsylvania – January 8, 2025 – A Girl’s Gotta Spa!, a purpose-driven self-care brand dedicated to empowering survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking, has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab powered by the Accion Opportunity Fund (AOF). This prestigious grant, only awarded to 150 small businesses nationwide per application period, is part of a collaborative effort between FedEx, AOF, and e-commerce consultancy, 37 Oaks.

Founded by Shannon Smyth, A Girl’s Gotta Spa! is more than body care—it’s a mission-driven brand offering hope and healing to survivors. Through its line of Leaping Bunny-certified cruelty-free products, including body washes, lotions, and perfumes, the brand inspires women to reclaim their confidence and prioritize self-care as a step toward thriving.

Central to its mission is giving back. A Girl’s Gotta Spa! donates a portion of perfume sales to Victims’ Intervention Program (VIP) in Honesdale, PA, who provide critical resources to survivors in the community. "This grant is not just about financial growth—it’s about expanding our ability to uplift women and show them that thriving isn’t just possible, it’s within reach," says Smyth.

A Girl’s Gotta Spa! believes self-care is essential, not just for physical renewal, but as a means of empowering survivors to take steps toward rebuilding their lives. With this grant, the company will expand its efforts to reach more women, amplify awareness, and provide additional support through its advocacy work.

"This recognition validates our mission of giving back and creating a space where survivors feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive," Smyth adds.

While focused on social impact, the brand also maintains sustainability practices, holding a certification as plastic-neutral through rePurpose Global. This certification involves funding the elimination of as much plastic waste from oceans and landfills as is produced in A Girl's Gotta Spa!'s packaging and shipping materials.
